Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how the ExConnect service works, what you can expect from us, and your responsibilities when using the service.
1. Overview
ExConnect provides a human-supported communication service designed to help separated parents manage necessary co-parenting communication with greater structure and less emotional strain.
By creating an account or using the ExConnect service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Nature of the service
ExConnect supports communication. It does not replace your own judgement or decision-making.
The service may assist by:
- Reviewing and structuring incoming communication
- Helping refine outgoing messages for clarity, tone and relevance
- Providing a structured communication pathway between you and your co-parent
ExConnect does not make parenting decisions on your behalf and does not provide legal advice, psychological treatment, therapy or formal mediation.
You remain responsible for the decisions you make and for the content of messages you approve and send.
3. Your responsibilities
By using ExConnect, you agree to:
- Provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- Review outgoing messages before they are sent where approval is required
- Use the service lawfully and appropriately
- Not use ExConnect to send abusive, threatening, harassing, misleading or otherwise harmful communication
- Use the service only for purposes consistent with its intended co-parenting communication function
You are responsible for your own conduct, decisions and communications when using the service.
4. Human-assisted communication
ExConnect is a human-supported service. Trained assistants may review and process messages where this is necessary to provide the service.
By using ExConnect, you acknowledge that:
- Your messages may be reviewed and processed by an ExConnect assistant
- The assistant’s role is to support clarity, structure and lower-conflict communication
- Assistants do not act as your legal representative, therapist or mediator
- Human support does not remove your responsibility for decisions or messages you approve
5. Messaging and delivery
ExConnect may facilitate communication through email, WhatsApp or other supported messaging platforms.
We aim to provide the service within reasonable timeframes, but we do not guarantee immediate review, transmission or delivery of messages.
You are responsible for checking the accuracy of information you provide and for reviewing outgoing communication where approval is required.
6. Usage and reasonable limits
Your subscription is intended for reasonable use of the ExConnect service within the scope of the plan you have selected.
Where use is unusually high, outside the intended purpose of the service, or creates an unreasonable operational burden, we may contact you to discuss appropriate use and may limit or temporarily pause aspects of the service where reasonably necessary.
7. Payment, renewal and cancellation
ExConnect operates on a recurring subscription basis. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the applicable billing interval unless cancelled before the next renewal date.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period and fees already paid are not refundable for unused portions of that period.
8. Privacy and confidentiality
ExConnect takes privacy and confidentiality seriously. Personal information and communication are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Access to information is limited to authorised people and service providers where reasonably necessary to deliver or support the service.
While we take reasonable steps to protect information, no electronic service or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Service availability
We aim to provide a reliable service, but uninterrupted availability and specific response times are not guaranteed.
The service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues, third-party platform outages or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may modify, suspend or discontinue features of the service where reasonably necessary. Where a material change affects existing users, we will aim to provide reasonable notice where practicable.
10. Important limitations
ExConnect is designed to support communication, not to guarantee a particular outcome between co-parents.
To the extent permitted by law, ExConnect is not responsible for losses or outcomes arising solely from:
- Decisions made by you or your co-parent
- The content, interpretation or effect of communication between co-parents
- Delays, failures or interruptions caused by third-party communication platforms
- Reliance on the service as a substitute for professional legal, medical or psychological advice
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
11. Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate access to ExConnect where reasonably necessary, including where:
- These Terms are materially breached
- The service is used unlawfully, abusively or outside its intended purpose
- Payment obligations are not met
- Continued use creates a material safety, legal or operational concern
Where appropriate, we will aim to provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue before termination.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to ExConnect, our practices or applicable requirements.
The current version will be published on the ExConnect website. Where a material change significantly affects existing users, we may also provide additional notice.
